I host, watch and maintain websites

Sheet 01-04 — Care Package

The Care Package: managed hosting, DevOps and support in one monthly retainer — for sites I built and for sites I didn’t. You publish; I keep the lights on.

01 — In the package

Six things that stop being your problem

Part 01

Hosting

AWS, sized for the site, in your account or mine. Not a shared box with a thousand neighbours.

Part 02

Updates & patches

Core, plugins or dependencies, PHP and Node runtimes. Tested on staging first, then live, with a note of what changed.

Part 03

Backups

Nightly, offsite, [RETENTION] retention, and a restore drill every quarter — because a backup you have never restored is a guess.

Part 04

Monitoring & alerts

Uptime, SSL expiry, error rates, slow pages. I get paged, not you.

Part 05

Security

WAF, rate limits, hardening, least-privilege access, dependency audits. Boring on purpose.

Part 06

Support & small changes

[HOURS] hours a month for fixes and content help. Critical issues answered within [RESPONSE TIME].

04 — How it starts

From first look to monthly report

  1. 01Audit & harden

Access, versions, backups, open ports. Fix the urgent, list the rest.

  2. 02Move or keep

Stay where you are, or move to AWS in a window you choose.

  3. 03Monitoring on

Checks from outside, probes inside. Alerts routed to me.

  4. 04Backups verified

First nightly run, then a real restore to staging.

  5. 05Monthly report

What changed, what was patched, what I would do next.

  6. 06Renew — or not

Month to month. Leave with your runbooks and your data.

05 — Fit check

Is this the right retainer?

This is for you if
  • The site matters to the business but nobody owns it.
  • Your last host’s answer to “what happened?” was a shrug.
  • You want one person to call, who already knows the site.
  • You are an agency that would rather sell hosting than run it.
Not for you if
  • You need a help desk with ten agents and a ticket queue.
  • The site is a hobby and downtime costs nothing.
  • You want to keep a platform I cannot patch or back up properly.
Can you take over a site you didn’t build?
Yes. The audit comes first: access, versions, backups, what is on fire. Then a plan, then the retainer.
WordPress, Payload, or static?
All three. Most sites in the log are WordPress on Bricks; new builds are Payload + Astro. The package is the same, the runbook differs.
What happens at 2 a.m.?
The monitor pages me. Critical issues are answered within [RESPONSE TIME]; you get a note in the morning with what happened and what I did.
06 — Quote

Send me the site. I’ll tell you what it needs.

A URL is enough to start. You get a short audit and a quote for the size that fits — no call required unless you want one.
